The (New) Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show on SMC 1970s Volume 2

A review this cool bears reposting...
Well, my good compatriots, I had the pleasure of viewing the premiere telecast of the original (New) Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show for the very first time on WHV's Saturday Morning Cartoons - 1970s Volume 2 DVD set last week, having purchased it (and SMC - 1960s Volume 2) that morning @ Wal-Mart for a paltry pittence of $43. And, let me tell you, it was an experience that I can only sum up in three words in the American English language:
MONEY WELL SPENT!!!!!!!!
Not only are the original Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show interstitials indeed included on the set, the entire show has been restored, with crisp and clear quality, from the original 35mm interpositive masters, despite all rumors to the contrary that they were lost! (As ye seek, so shall ye find.) Also, mini-previews of what episodes are to come preceding commercial breaks have been included. The original Main Title itself boasts a backing track which was later used for The Mumbly Cartoon Show syndicated Main Title in 1977.
It totally made my day. As a fan who missed out on the original run on ABC Funshine...

The Dark Period is over!!
My New Tom & Jerry Info Site finally went back online as of this morning, now updated to include this week's Featured 1975 New T&J cartoon:
"The Super Cyclists"

But a lot had to be done to cut down on exceeding bandwidth and alleviate traffic to this site; files transferred, and blog entries deleted, so hopefully this won't happen again. And I'm sure a lot of you are still enjoying the premiere of Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape on Saturday Morning Cartoons - 1970s Volume 2, which came out last week! (Of course, GAC grabbed their crucifixes and posted a rather scathing review of the set [though they did have something nice to say about Grape Ape]...but we really don't dwell too much on that, now do we? 
)
